What sizes do cards come in? We currently offer 4×4.5 and 5×7 flat cards which both mail at standard post office rates.

Are these like the photographic cards I can get at the local drug store? No, these are double sided cards printed with state-of-the-art Indigo digital printing presses with real liquid ink.  And rather than being printed on photo paper, these are printed on a selection of heavy weight, Fine Art papers.  The color quality of these cards is unparalleled as they include Finespun Photography’s professional portrait finishing.

What kind of papers do you offer? All of our papers are Fine Art papers, meaning they are likened to those you find in specialty shops.  We offer 3 choices:  art linen, art recycled and pearl paper.

Can I order small qualities? We usually require a minimum order of 48 cards but are now accepting orders starting at 24 cards.

What is the price of these high quality cards? We are currently offering 10% offer our full line of Holiday Cards. Our 4.5×5 cards start at only $40 for 24 cards and our 5×7 cards start at only $54 for 24 cards.

What is the latest date to order my cards? We will accept Holiday Card orders until Sunday, 12/13.  It takes us about 2 weeks to process your order so we suggest you order a bit earlier to allow time for your shipping.

Finespun Photography is a “boutique” photography studio, catering to clients who want more from their photography than “snap shots” to file away in a box or images to post on the internet.  We specialize in custom photography. “Custom photography is more of a luxury than your entry level cookie cutter, department store experience. Custom photography truly is not for everyone; it requires a level of commitment, investment in time and money, forethought and planning on the part of the subject/client and requires a larger time commitment for the photographer as well.

Clients who enjoy taking a more active role in the creation of their family’s memories have the desire to have portrait art that is truly personalized.  These more discerning clients have been known to budget and allot time for a custom photography session. Many clients opt for it to be a once a year special experience, some opt to have custom photography sessions done to record their child’s stages in life.  Having said this, it is clear that custom photography is not in everyone’s budget,  it is something that most families save for to splurge on from time to time to memorialize their children as they really are (rather than posed and primped in the cookie cutter studio setting).

And the time, effort and expertise that go into creating this artwork will cost more.  Even though you can pay $1.99 for a print at your local drugstore, purchasing an 8 x 10 can cost $60 or more at a boutique studio.  There are many reasons for the additional costs at a custom studio, including time, equipment costs, artistic vision, photographer expertise, overhead, as well as the quality of the end product.  Finespun Photography’s portraits (even our 8 x 10’s) are professionally processed to enhance and softer skin tones; printed with the finest inks onto textured papers and mounted to board for stability.  All of our prints are treated with an archival lacquer to protect the images for many years.  This labor intensive process is incorporated into every product we sell.
